What Is the Kettlebell Swing?
The swing is an exercise where the weight moves back and forth or other direction. There are many swing variations. The variation that has become the most popular is the hip hinge swing. But that does not mean that it is the best for any given objective. The hip hinge swing is an insert and pull out. That is the action that takes place to create the movement.
The pendulum swing, which was the most common swing before kettlebells were popularized, is as the name implies, a pendulum, which means it swings freely, or in our case, as freely as possible.
The squat swing is probably one of the most effective when it comes to muscles used and cardio effect but has unfortunately got a bad rap which this course will correct.
Why Swing a Kettlebell?
- Increase leg strength
- Improve posture
- Increase endurance, both cardiovascular and muscular
