Solution
From a good racking position, initiate the drop by rotating the forearm slightly so that the bell moves toward the ground and follow through by letting gravity take over.
Description
With a clean that involves a swinging movement, the intention is for the bell to fall away from you and therefore the elbow should remain in place as long as possible. With a clean that involves a hang or going back to dead, the intention is for the bell to stay close to you so you want to pull the elbow back to make space.
The bell (round part) should not flip over the fist, watch the video below and you will see that the bell moves toward the ground first through the rotation of the forearm.
